SUMMARY:University Grants Committee Delegation’s Visit to EdUHK
DESCRIPTION:The Chairman of the University Grants Committee (UGC) Mr Tim Lui Tim-leung visited The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on 4 September 2025 together with over 20 UGC members. \n\n\n\nProfessor Amy Ha Sau-ching\, Head of Department of Health and Physical Education\, presented EdUHK’s sports science advancements to the delegation by illustrating how the SmartCourt in Human Performance Laboratory\, the first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong and equipped with real-time multi-angle video recording and analytical capabilities\, greatly advanced research and enhanced teacher training and learning experience. \n\n\n\nEdUHK admitted 89 elite-athletes through the UGC-funded Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme (SALSA) since the 2022 academic year\, providing holistic support to student-athletes in their pursuit of dual-track development in academic studies and athletic careers. \n\n\n\nHead of Department of Health and Physical Education Professor Amy Ha Sau-ching introduces the University’s student-elite athlete scheme and the development of sports talent\n\n\n\nAn EdUHK student athlete demonstrates equipment in the Human Performance Laboratory\, covering the fields of sports biomechanics and sports physiology\n\n\n\nThe UGC delegation\, led by UGC Chairman Mr Tim Lui (middle\, first row) are warmly received by EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin (fourth right\, first row) and other university management members
