SUMMARY:[RTHK] Current Physical Activity Promotion Among People with Physical Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:In the recent episode of “Hong Kong Connection” on RTHK\, Dr. LEUNG Ka Man\, Carman\, an Associate Professor from the Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK)\, was invited to share her insights about the current physical activity promotion among people with physical disabilities. Dr Leung pointed out that people with physical disabilities tend to be lower in their fitness level\, and their chance of doing physical activity is limited in our community. \nDr. Leung highlighted the need to build a more inclusive sports environment in our community\, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage in physical activity and experience its benefits. Dr. Leung further explained the potential of adaptive sports\, like sitting light volleyball\, which not only fosters an inclusive sporting environment development but also offers a new sport for people with physical disabilities. More importantly\, these sports can greatly contribute to the physical and mental well-being of people with physical disabilities\, advocating their engagement in our community. \n\n\nSource: RTHK Youtube
