SUMMARY:[Sun Hung Kai & Co. Around the Island Race 2025] EdUHK Elite Athlete-Student Asgar Kikabhoy Wins Windsurfing Category
DESCRIPTION:The Sun Hung Kai & Co. Around the Island Race 2025\, the largest annual sailing event in Hong Kong organized by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club\, was held last Saturday (13 December) at Victoria Harbour. The event attracted around 230 teams and nearly 1\,700 local and overseas competitors\, creating a vibrant and highly competitive atmosphere. \n\n\n\nOur elite athlete-student\, Asgar Kikabhoy (Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching)\, represented the Hong Kong\, China Windsurfing Team to compete in the windsurfing category\, which has been reinstated after a 22-year hiatus. Asgar delivered an outstanding performance and claimed the category championship\, finishing just 41 seconds ahead of his teammate. With the windsurfing category reinstated this year\, Asgar conducted in-depth studies of the coastal features of Hong Kong Island and wind forecasts prior to the race\, and undertook targeted physical training to build endurance required for long-distance competition. He completed the full circumnavigation of Hong Kong Island in 6 hours\, 16 minutes and 06 seconds\, securing first place in the windsurfing category. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAsgar Kikabhoy (first from right); Photo provided by Sportsroad\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here for more details (only available in Chinese)
