SUMMARY:Nissin Foods Elite Athletes Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025/26
DESCRIPTION:The Nissin Foods Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2025/26 was held on 27 January 2026 to award scholarships to elite athlete-students from the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) who strive for excellence in their studies while continuing to excel in their sporting performance. The scholarship will cover full yearly tuition fees of the recipients\, allowing them to focus on their studies without worrying about financial burden. For the fourth consecutive year\, Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund (“Charity Fund”) continued its support to the outstanding students enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme (BHE)\, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching [BSc(SPSC)] Programme\, or the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Programme (Major in PE) at EdUHK. The four new scholarship awardees in the 2025/26 academic year are MOK Pak Fan Logan (triathlon) and WONG Pak Yiu Anson (triathlon)\, Year 1 students of BSc(SPSC); HO Kin Yiu Yoyo (volleyball) and YAN Nuo Norah (shuttlecock)\, Year 1 students of PGDE-PE. The three awardees receiving renewed scholarship are CHEN Pak Hong\, Jaden (rowing)\, LAU Joseph (cycling) and CHOI Kwan Lok (cycling\, retired) from BHE. Prof. CHAN Che Hin\, Chetwyn\, Vice President (Research and Development) of EdUHK\, sincerely thanked the Nissin Foods Charity Fund for its generous support to the University. He also praised the outstanding achievements of the students. SUMMARY:Department of Health and Physical Education Unites for the Hong Kong Marathon Promoting Sports Development and Advancing Physical and Health Education
DESCRIPTION:In support of the Hong Kong Marathon\, the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) at The Education University of Hong Kong organised and participated in a wide range of marathon-related activities before and after the race. Through professional outreach and active involvement in the race\, the Department showcased its expertise and strong community spirit in advancing physical education\, health education and sport science. On 15 and 17 January\, Professor Ha Sau-ching Amy\, Chair Professor of Physical Education and Sports Science and Head of the Department\, and Dr Louie Hung-tak Lobo\, Senior Lecturer\, were invited by the marathon organiser to deliver thematic seminars on sports for the public and runners. The sessions\, well received by the audience\, focused on parent-child physical activity and post-race recovery\, highlighting how sports education can strengthen family relationships and how evidence-based recovery strategies can help long-distance runners maintain performance and well-being. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProf Ha Sau-ching Amy\, Chair Professor of Physical Education and Sports Science and Head of the Department\, shares with the public how sports education can strengthen family relationships\n\n\n\n\n\nMr Kwan Kee (left)\, Chairman of the Hong Kong\, China Athletics Association\, presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Prof Amy Ha (right)\n\n\n\n Dr Louie Hung-tak Lobo\, Senior Lecturer\, shares with the public about post-race recovery\n\n\n\n\nAt the Hong Kong Marathon held on 18 January\, more than 50 students\, staff members\, elite athletes and alumni from the Department participated in the race\, highlighting the Department’s dedication to active living and community engagement. SUMMARY:Prof. Liu Xinmin Shared New Insights on Ginseng and Strategies for Promoting Physical and Mental Well-being
DESCRIPTION:Prof. Liu Xinmin\, Vice Chairman of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Laboratory Animals\, Director of the Branch of Food and Medicine Homology Industry of the Chinese Nutrition Society\, and Chief Scientist at the Institute of Drug Discovery Technology\, Ningbo University\, delivered a lecture on “Ginseng as Supplement – Strategies for Maintaining Physical and Mental Health” in his visit on 8 January 2026 to the Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. Prof. Liu elaborated his recent research findings on the potential benefits of ginseng and ginsenosides in enhancing concentration\, improving physical performance\, regulating stress hormones\, and supporting overall well-being and healthy aging.
