To enhance students’ job-hunting competitiveness and employability, the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) has established an HPE Certificate Course Fund to provide financial support to students pursuing sports-related certificate courses.
To apply for the HPE Certificate Course Fund, applicants should:
1. Be current EdUHK students who are studying the following programmes:
2. Have registered for a certificate course after admission and within the period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027; AND
3. Have registered for a certificate course related to sports judge / referee, sports coaching, sports medicine, or first aid; AND
4. Have registered for a certificate course certified by:
(a). The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK); 或
(b). The National Sports Association (NSA) which is recognized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (SF&OC); 或
(c). Hong Kong Red Cross or Hong Kong St. John Ambulance; 或
(d). *Institutions which are listed in Annex I.
5. ^Complete the registered certificate course with a Pass result.
*Remark 1: The Annex I will be updated regularly and released in April of every academic year.
^Remark 2: Any incompletion of a certificate course or completion of a certificate course with a Fail result is ineligible to apply for this fund.
The maximum subsidy for each student during his/her study in the same programme is capped at HK$2,000 in all circumstances.
1. The application deadline for the HPE Certificate Course Fund 2026/27 is 16 April 2027. Late submissions will not be entertained. Please submit the reimbursement application form and required documents on time.
2. Applicants should submit the following documents to the HPE General Office (D4-2/F-02) during office hours on or before the application deadline:
(a). A completed application form; AND
(b). #An original receipt (收據正本) of the certificate course; AND
(c). An original certificate (for verification); AND
(d). A copy of the certificate or any documents to prove that the certificate course has been completed with a Pass result; AND
(e). Other supporting documents/information (if any/if required by HPE staff)
3. Applicants should provide information (e.g., email, screenshot, website link, etc.) to prove that the completed certificate course fulfills the fourth requirement stated in Section B Eligibility to Apply for The Fund.
4. @All applicants should submit their applications before graduation.
#Remark 1: Receipt copy is not allowed (不接受收據副本).
@Remark 2: Any applications submitted after graduation will not be entertained.
HPE reserves the final right to interpret the terms of the Certificate Course Fund if there are any disputes.
