HKIEd had developed an electronic diary which allowed students to upload images of their food and details of exercise to a web-based system via their smart phones and camera. The data is then analyzed by dieticians who provide feedback on energy and nutrient analysis for self-reflection.
 
The leading researcher 鍾明恩博士, Assistant Professor at the 健康與體育學系, said the aim of the e-diary was to transfer nutrition knowledge to the user so that with practice they could modify their own behaviour. She said educators could arrange more outdoor activities, allocating more time for PE lessons and motivating children to join sports team whereas parents could help their children establish exercise habits.
