Departmental Visit by the Vice President (Research & Development) 2026

The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) welcomed the Vice President (Research & Development) [VP(RD)], Professor CHAN Che Hin Chetwyn, for an insightful visit to the department on 5 March 2026. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss EdUHK’s overarching strategic vision for research and development, as well as to cultivate dialogue on ongoing and future initiatives within the Department.

The meeting gathered the HPE academic and teaching staff, as well as representatives from the VP(RD) Office

During the meeting, Prof CHAN shared the University’s vision to enhance research excellence and strengthen collaborative efforts across disciplines. HPE members engaged actively in discussions, exchanging ideas and providing updates on various research initiatives that align with the University’s strategic goals.
 
The VP(RD) provided guidance on departmental research performance and identified areas for growth with HPE colleagues. In addition, the session featured an open Q&A session, enabling HPE members to raise questions and share insights directly with the VP(RD). The department management was also invited to share their observations and perspectives on research challenges and opportunities within the unit.

This visit underscores the University’s commitment to fostering a vibrant research environment and supporting departments in their scholarly pursuits. HPE looks forward to continued collaboration and strategic initiatives that will propel research excellence and innovation in physical education, sports and health sciences.
