Dec 11, 2025 Dec 14, 2025
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) held the inaugural “BWF AirBadminton World Cup 2025” from 11 to 14 December 2025 at Khor Fakkan Beach, located on the east of the third-largest city Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. This landmark event brought together elite athletes from 12 countries and regions worldwide, showcasing the innovative appeal of outdoor badminton.
Our elite athlete-student Yuen Sin Ying (graduate of Bachelor of Health Education and Master of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Management) represented Hong Kong, China in the Women’s Triples event, collaborating seamlessly with her teammates to capture the bronze medal.
Sin Ying and her teammates demonstrated exceptional skills throughout the competition. In the group stage, they defeated Australia 3-0 and overcame China 3-2, finishing top of the group to advance to the quarterfinals. They subsequently defeated Germany 3-1 in the quarterfinals to secure a spot in the semifinals. Facing China once again in the semi-final, the team fought fiercely for 1 hour and 7 minutes, finishing the match 2-3 and securing the bronze medal of the Women’s Triples event.
We wish Sin Ying continued success in her future endeavors!
