The Asian Snooker Championship took place from February 15 to 21 in Doha, Qatar. Our elite athlete student, Chang Yu Kiu, studying for a Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)), represented Hong Kong in the men’s event. There were 44 participants in the men’s category. Chang won all three of his group-stage matches, advancing to the round of 16, where he swept Bangladesh’s Asif Imran 4-0. He then defeated Oman’s Sami Al Hamrashdi 4-1 in the quarterfinals. However, in the semifinals, Chang lost 0-4 to India’s Pankaj Advani and claimed the 2nd Runner-Up. Chang’s outstanding performance in the tournament once again brought glory to Hong Kong’s snooker community!
