HKIEd Dancing Competition to Promote message of Love, Health and Care in Community

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Science (FLASS) and the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme [BHE] co-organized a series of activities from March 2014 to May 2014, as a part of the Institute’s campaign to spread the messages of love, health and care to the community.  Following the first activity – Healthy Cooking Competition – which was held on 20 March 2014 successfully, the second activity – Dancing Competition – was completed on 30 April 2014.
 
The competition aims to promote general public’s awareness of healthy lifestyle by incorporating simple dancing movements into daily physical activity. Participants were required to design fun dancing movements to motivate children’s active engagement in dancing activities so as to achieve overall physical fitness.
 
Four teams were selected as finalists, namely Let’s Dance, IEd Pop, KDancer and Energy. The participating teams presented their dancing and ideas behind, delighting the audience with their lively presentations and demonstrations.  The Winner team, Energy (members included HKIEd students: Kwok Tsz Hin, Lee Ka Wai Jimmy (elite athlete in Karate) and Yip Pui Yin (elite athlete in Badminton)) will promote their dance in local primary school, to share the joy of dancing and healthy activity together.
 
In addition to the dancing competition, a hair-cutting volunteering project will be held in the coming month, as the last activity to show a sense of care towards society and to encourage the general public to enjoy a healthy lifestyle together.
