EdUHK launches Elite Athlete Friendly University Fund

Local dailies reported that EdUHK launches the Elite Athlete Friendly University Fund to provide scholarships for the University’s Olympians, including the medallists in Tokyo.
In the ceremony held yesterday, table tennis bronze medallists Ms Doo Hoi-kem and Ms Lee Ho-ching received HK$120,000 full scholarships presented by President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, with the presence of UGC Chairman Mr Carlson Tong and Chief Executive of Hong Kong Sports Institute Dr Trisha Leahy.
Professor Cheung was quoted as saying that the University is delighted to support the athletes’ further studies, and believe they will benefit from university education in their pursuit of career paths.
