HKEJ reported that The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) released a guidance to all sports associations and institutions on the selection of athletes to join competitions, requesting them to set a clear selection mechanism and publicise on their websites, and this guidance, including a mechanism for unselected athletes to apply for a review, will apply to all international competitions in the future.

Dr. LOUIE Hung Tak, Lobo, senior lecturer of the Department of Health and Physical Education, welcomed this guidance as there were many controversies over the selection of athletes in the past years, describing it as “better late than never”.
