3rd HPE Research Seminar 2025/26 Research Seminar by HPE Newly Recruited Professors
March 11 All day
The Departmental Research and Development Committee (DRDC) of HPE successfully hosted the 3rd HPE Research Seminar for the 2025/26 academic year on 11 March 2026. The seminar featured insightful presentations by our newly joined professors, Prof Andrew EDWARDS and Prof KUO Chia Hua, highlighting cutting-edge research in sport science and exercise physiology.
The seminar commenced with a compelling presentation by Professor EDWARDS, who delved into the “Psychophysiology of Sport and Exercise”. His talk explored the intricate relationships between psychological factors and physiological responses during athletic performance, offering perspectives for athletes, coaches, and researchers alike.

Following Professor EDWARDS, Professor KUO presented on the topic “Scientific Evidence for the Fat-Loss Effects of Exercise Training: Fat Loss Is Not Equivalent to Fat Burning”. His talk challenged common concepts, emphasizing the complex biological processes involved in exercise-induced fat reduction and underscoring the importance of evidence-based approaches to fitness and health.

The seminar provided a vibrant platform for academic exchange and facilitated collaboration among staff members. We thank all attendees and speakers for their active participation and look forward to more engaging departmental seminars in the future.
