The HPE to Host International Conference – Shaping the Future: Sport, Health and Education
November 2 – November 4
The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) will be hosting an International Conference – Shaping the Future: Sport, Health and Education from 2 – 4 November 2026. The conference brings together scholars, educators, practitioners, and policy leaders to examine the evolving relationship between sport, health and education across Asia.
The Conference will feature keynote lectures, invited sessions, oral and poster presentations and professional discussions. The Conference agenda structures on three primary pillars:
Health, Physical Activity, and Societal Impact: Aligned with World Health Organization (WHO) frameworks, this track addresses public health, mental well-being, and social inclusion. Discussions will focus on how educational institutions and health systems across Asia can leverage physical activity to drive health equity and policy reform.
Excellence in Sport, Physical Education, and Performance: Spanning the continuum from school-based learning to elite athletics, this strand explores how modern pedagogy, coaching methodologies, and technology enhance physical literacy, resilience, and athletic achievement.
Professional Practice: Addressing the absence of a unified regional accreditation system in Asia—unlike established frameworks in Australia, the UK, and the US—this academic forum convenes university deans and department heads to establish standardized quality assurance, professional practice, and graduate preparation across the region.
