In a contributed article to Ming Pao, Professor Stephen Chiu Wing-kai, Chair Professor of Sociology, and , Assistant Professor of the Department of Health and Physical Education discussed the existing physical education coach training programmes in the city, noting that the training of grassroot coaches is actually the most vital in promoting the physical education, for promoting the full community participation as well the participations by children and teenagers.
They explained that grassroot coaches are the most important link in discovering and training primary and secondary students with athletic talents.
