The Departmental Research and Development Committee (DRDC) successfully hosted its first research seminar for the 2025/26 academic year. The seminar aimed to support our newly joined professors and early-career academic staff by sharing valuable insights into securing research grants offered by the Research Grant Council (RGC).

Moderated by the DRDC Chair, Dr Carman Leung, the session featured meaningful sharing by three colleagues who are recent RGC grant recipients:

• Dr. Gary Chow – Grantee of the General Research Fund (GRF) 2023/24 and Early Career Scheme (ECS) 2021/22
• Dr. Zheng Chen – Grantee of the ECS 2025/26 and Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) 2021
• Dr. Liang Xiao – Grantee of the Young Collaborative Research Grant 2024/2025

The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, fostering a better understanding of the grant application process and research funding landscape within our department.
