Asian Games 2026|EdUHK Alumna Leung Wing-yee Wins Bronze in Women’s Road Race

September 22 All day

EdUHK elite athlete alumna Leung Wing-yee, a graduate of the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours), delivered an impressive performance at the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026, winning a bronze medal in the women’s individual road race.

Competing in the 90.4 km road race on 22 September, Wing-yee stayed with the leading group throughout the race and moved into third place after the first two laps. She completed the race in 2:50:46 to secure the bronze medal.

This achievement marks Wing-yee’s third consecutive Asian Games with a medal. She previously won bronze in the women’s individual time trial at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, followed by another bronze in the women’s team pursuit at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Despite facing challenges in the lead-up to the Games, including illness and a crash earlier this year, Wing-yee approached the road race with a positive mindset and gave her best throughout the competition. Her determination and resilience once again saw her step onto the Asian Games podium.

Congratulations to Wing-yee on this outstanding achievement! The Department of Health and Physical Education warmly congratulates Wing-yee and wishes her continued success in the remaining events of the Asian Games.
