On 2 Feb 2023, 29 students from Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching programme attended Disney Open House for Dream Makers as part of the course “PES1274 Sport Management and Development”. The event was the first in-park Career Development and Job Recruitment Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland. It was a valuable opportunity for our students to learn about the operation and management of the resort as well as their possible diverse career choices.
 
Students attended 3 leaders’ sharing sessions hosted by the management of Disneyland Resort. A wide range of themes were covered including “Future Development of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort”, “Disney Heritage: The Legacy of Storytelling”, “Sneak Peek of World of Frozen” and “Cast First ― Sharing on Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits”. As our students are prepared for a wide range of careers including prospects in the sports and recreation sector, it was such an insightful and fruitful experience for them to meet with leaders of one of the biggest recreational and commercial companies in Hong Kong. They have learnt about the vision and beliefs of Disneyland “Imagineering” across the globe. The sharing on the talent acquisition was also very informative and helpful as students got to learn about what it is like to work at Disneyland as well as its human resource management. Students are thankful for this opportunity and are looking forward to meaningful encounters in the future already!
