EdUHK promotes dual career pathways for athlete students

Local dailies reported on the awards to the HK team, including the HK$300 million Booster Fund jointly set up by the government and the HKJC for the enhancement of HK athletes’ abilities.
In response to media enquiries, EdUHK said it provides full supports to elite athletes, citing special study arrangement covering distance learning and flexible study schedule. Meanwhile, the University also offered postgraduate degree programme scholarship for elite athletes to encourage elite athletes in maintaining their studies apart from training.
In a related development, HKU announced that it will award a $100,000 scholarship to each of the three current sports students who represented Hong Kong at the Olympics, in support of their academic and sports career developments.
