In an effort to expand scope of academic collaboration with higher education institutions in Mainland China and also to enhance staff’s understanding of national sports development, HPE organised an academic visioning trip to Beijing and Tianjin between 11 and 14 March 2024.

Staff member visited the indoor track and field training ground in Beijing Sports University

Led by the acting Head of Department Dr. TSE Choi Yeung, Andy and Associate Heads of Department Dr. SUN Fenghua, Bob and Dr. CHOW Chi Ching, Gary, academic and teaching staff including Dr. LEUNG Ka Man, Carman, Dr. ZHENG Chen, Mr. HO Yik Kiu, Kenneth, Ms. WANG Sha and Mr. SIU Ka Man, Tom met with sports personnel of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and Beijing Sport University to discuss potential collaborations in areas such as research project and student exchange programmes.

HPE staff then attended the Ceremony of the Renewal of Memorandum of Understanding between EdUHK and Tianjin University of Sport. Two BEd(PE) students also joined the group and attended one training session of Tianjin professional women’s volleyball team.
