  • [Anti-Pandemic] Universities launch online home exercise videos

    Lion Rock Daily reported EdUHK has earlier invited 10 elite athlete students or alumni to shoot a short video, motivating the public to do simple exercise routines at home; while CUHK, HKUST and other organisations have also jointly launched “Fun to Move@JC”, launching home sports videos so that parents and children can do exercise together.

  • [Anti-Pandemic] Mr Roy Chan Ching-yat on online teaching of physical education

    Mr. CHAN Ching Yat, Roy, Senior Lecturer, Department of Health and Physical Education, appeared in the programme Speak Up at Eight on Hong Kong Open TV to share his insights into online teaching of physical education. He said it is hugely challenging and teachers have to take into account students' living environment. PE teachers can add to the online work-out routine some moves that are similar to those in basketball or football courts in order to prevent students' physical fitness from worsening despite a small home environment.

  • [Anti-Epidemic] Mr Kevin Kam recommended indoor aerobic exercise

    Urbanlifehk.com carried an article to introduce indoor aerobic exercise recommended by Mr. KAM Wai Keung, Kevin, Associate Head of the Department of Health and Physical Education. The exercise was demonstrated in a short teaching video that was jointly produced by the Department of Health and Physical Education of EdUHK and HKPEA.

    Urbanlifehk.com carried an article to introduce four sets of indoor workout routines recommended by Mr. KAM Wai Keung, Kevin, Associate Head of the Department of Health and Physical Education to help citizens stay healthy amidst the coronavirus epidemic outbreak. These workout routines cover the stretching of head, hands, waist and legs.

  • [2020 ITTF World Tour Hungarian Open] Congratulations for winning a GOLD & a SILVER medals by Doo Hoi Kem and her partners!

    2020 ITTF World Tour Hungarian Open had completed in Budapest on 23 February 2020. Doo Hoi Kem (Doo), a student from Bachelor of Health Education (Honors) programme, had contributed the FIRST Gold medal of 2020 with her Olympic partner Wong Chun Ting in Mixed Doubles. A second medal was followed after the intensive competition day, Doo and her partner - Lee Ho Ching won a silver medal in Doubles.

  • EdUHK elite athletes promote “moving” at home to fight for the epidemic

    Many electronic and online dailies reported that EdUHK’s Department of Health and Physical Education has teamed up with Hong Kong Physical Education Association (HKPEA) to invite 10 elite athlete students or alumni to shoot a short video, motivating the public to do simple exercise routines at home. Dr Ada Ma Wai-wing said the purpose of the campaign is to encourage Hong Kong people to do exercises at home in this testing time, so that they can have a stronger immune system to fight the epidemic.

  • City 2020 Anti-Epidemic

    Department of Health and PE and the Hong Kong PE Association are partners to promote school physical education in Hong Kong. A campaign to promote a healthy exercise at home through social media during virus outbreak has been launched. Apart from wearing mask and washing hands, exercise may help people build bodies that are stronger and better able to fight virus. Numbers of elite athletes who are studying to graduated from our programme had participated in the campaign and demonstrate their exercises to join the movement.
