Online Seminars on Inclusive Physical Education and Adapted Physical Activity
The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) successfully held two online seminars themed on inclusive Physical Education and Adapted Physical Activity, i.e., “Movement and Visual Impairment: Reflections on a Decade of Work” and “Researching Inclusion as a Subjective Experience in Physical Education”, on 7 & 14 November 2022 respectively.

[WTT Contender Nova Gorica 2022] A GOLD medal in Women’s Doubles (Table Tennis) from Doo Hoi Kem!
Following the victory of WTT Feeder Otocec 2022, Doo Hoi Kem, the elite athlete student (Table Tennis) in Bachelor of Health Education (Honors) programme, has won the champion of Women’s Doubles with her partner Zhu Chengzhu in WTT Contender Nova Gorica 2022 organized at Solvenia on 6 November 2022. They have overcome the Sweden pairs - Linda Bergstrom/Christina Kallberg in three games of the final match, with the score 11-7, 11-8, 11-6.

PE in Community – Street Fitness for the Elderly
Between August and November 2022, four Year 2 students of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education) under the Sports Council from the Education University of Hong Kong participated in 10 lessons of “Street Fitness for the Elderly”. The activities aimed to enhance the physical fitness of the elderly through exercise and help the elderly develop the habit of exercising.

[SALSA Scheme] Close Collaboration between HKSI & EdUHK
Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) has invited EdUHK Registry and Department Health and Physical Education for a working meeting held on 13 October 2022. With the launch of the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme (SALSA) by the University Grants Committee (UGC) in 2022, the meeting aims to maintain close communication between HKSI and EdUHK to exchange views on providing better support and explore more collaborations on the elite athletes for their dual career pathway. Both institutes have gained more understanding on the needs of student-athletes in sport and academic development, which can benefit the enhancement of the study programmes and all-rounded support scheme.

Hong Kong Light Volleyball Harmonious Cup
教大健康與體育學系及香港輕(氣)排球總會於上周末 (10月8日及9日)合辦「香港輕排球賽」,更首設「殘疾人士坐地輕排」組別,吸引肢體殘疾人士及健全人士一起參賽。本校健康及體育學系學士及碩士課程學生都有參與其中,是全球首個坐地輕排球比賽。

[Lifesaving World Championships 2022] A GOLD medal from Li Yan Tung from BSc(SPSC)!
Lifesaving World Championships 2022 has been held in Riccione, Italy from 21 September to 2 October 2022. Li Yan Tung, the year-one student of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching, with her partner Ching Oi Ki, has won a gold medal of Line Throw (Female Youth) in the Championships and broke the youth world record with 12.40s in the preliminary round.

[3rd Asia Bowls Championship for the Disabled 2022] Kwok Wing from BHE won a SILVER medal!
The 3rd Asia Bowls Championship for the Disabled 2022 took place in Johor, Malaysia from 24 September to 2 October. All twelve members of Hong Kong Squad Team won the medals, with three gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze in total. Kwok Wing Calvin, the student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme , is one of the team member and won a silver medal in Male Individual Class B4.

Thailand International Judo Championships 2022] A GOLD medal (Female – 57kg) from Yeung Nok Lam!
Thailand International Judo Championships 2022 was held on 24 - 25 September at the Chiang Rai Municipality Convention Center in Chiang Rai Province. Yeung Nok Lam, the student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme, won a gold medal of Female – 57kg in the Championships.

[FISU University World Cup Combat Sports] Good News! Debbie Yeung won a GOLD & a SILVER in Wushu!
Debbie Yeung, the student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme, has been selected as a member of the USFHK Wushu Team to represent Hong Kong, China and EdUHK in the 2022 FISU University World Cup Combat Sports. The tournament was held in Samsun, Turkey from 21 to 30 September, which the USFHK Wushu Team has obtained 7 gold and 3 silver medals in total. Debbie had outstanding performance in the World Cup, she won the gold medal of Taijijan and the silver medal of Taijiquan.

[The Eastside Open 2022] First PSA 3K Title of Fung Ching Hei
The Eastside Open 2022 has completed on 18 September 2022 in Hobart, Australia. Fung Ching Hei, the year-one squash elite athlete-student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme, has obtained her first PSA 3K title in the captioned squash tournament. After a tough battle against her teammate, Fung Ching Hei claimed the champion with the game score 3:2 successfully.
