  • HPE Assembly 2026/27

    The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) successfully held the HPE Assembly on 11 September 2026, offering students and staff with valuable insights into the Department's vision, upcoming initiatives, and the vibrant academic community for the new academic year.

    The assembly allowed participants to engage with various aspects of the student life and leadership within the Department, ranging from the Opening Ceremony and a formal introduction to the HPE Team, to an inspiring welcome address delivered by Prof. HA Sau Ching, Amy. Attendees also received first-hand updates on campus activities through the Sports Council Sharing Session and an energetic promotion for the upcoming Asian Games 2026 presented by the SALSA Team.

    The Department was honoured to have several distinguished alumni, who delivered an insightful sharing session entitled “From Classroom to Community: Shaping the Future through Health and Physical Education.” The esteemed speakers included Mr. Yan Siu Kang, Vice-Principal of Chi Lin Buddhist Secondary School and two-time recipient of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence in the Physical Education Key Learning Area; Ms. Kwan Ning Wai, former elite athlete of the Hong Kong Wushu Team and East Asian Games gold medalist, who now serves as a physiotherapist with the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children; and Mr. Hung Chor Ying, Edmond, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (HKSI) and former Chairman of the Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (HKSSF).

    Their professional guidance and enriching sharing offered participants with valuable and enjoyable learning experiences, highlighting the event’s major goal. The HPE Assembly serves as an important initiative for fostering a strong sense of belonging, inspiring students' professional development, and strengthening the community within the field of health and physical education.

  • [2026 China Open International Taekwondo Championships] EdUHK Elite Athlete-Student Chan Ka Yi Wins Silver!

    EdUHK elite athlete-student Chan Ka Yi (current student of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education)) won a silver medal at the 2026 China Open International Taekwondo Championships, held from 20 to 25 August 2026. Joining her teammates in the Recognized Poomsae U30 Women's Team event, Chan delivered a consistent performance through solid execution and excellent teamwork, securing a silver medal. Congratulations!
