Mr. CHAN Ching Yat, Roy, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Health and Physical Education, EdUHK, and Mr Leung Chi Ho, Year 1 student of Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education) shared the Online Sports Day experience with 49 PE teachers from 25 Po Leung Kuk Affiliated Primary Schools on March 2, 2022.

The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) held a series of online seminars themed on Adapted Physical Education and Adapted Physical Activity. The seminars were delivered by visiting scholar Prof. Dr Selina Khoo, on 2nd and 9th March 2022, respectively.

The 1st HPE Learning and Teaching Seminar 2021/22 orgainzed by DLTC, "Different Strategies Allowing Students to Prepare, to Interact, and to Review the Online Lesson" , was successfully conducted on 16 February 2022.

The Metroradio has interviewed Dr. LEUNG Ka Man, Carman, Assistant Professor of Department of Health and Physical Education, on her projects in adapted physical activity in older adults and people with physical disabilities.

Good news from Hong Kong Karate Team!
 
The team has won three Bronze medals in Asian Karate Championships Seniors 2021; one Gold, one Silver and five bronze medals of Junior Championships in total. The event was held in in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 20 to 22, December 2021. Three of the Hong Kong medalists are the students at The Education University of Hong Kong, shown as below:

The RTHK has interviewed Chung Pui Ki Vicky, a female football athlete and the Year 1 student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme on her sport development and dual career pathway. She is the first batch of athlete-students from Hong Kong Athletes Career & Education Programme (HKACEP) admitted into EdUHK after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) on 8 January 2021, while EdUHK is the first local university to establish such a collaboration with HKACEP.

Chan Yan Kit, a current student from Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme, is a role model of elite athlete on developing his dual career pathway. Kit retired from full-time badminton athlete and has become part-time coach at Hong Kong Sports Institute since 2016.

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) received a generous donation of HK$2 million from the Friends of Hong Kong Association (FHKA) on 2 December in support of the University’s Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) Fund, a scheme established to promote the dual career pathway for local athletes and to foster the sustainable development of local sports.

Mr. YEUNG, Tak-keung, Commissioner for Sports and Mr. Alex LEUNG, Assistant Secretary for Home Affairs (Recreation & Sport) have honorably visited the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) on 29th November 2021.

A big congratulation to Prof. Sheung-Tak Cheng, who has been recognized as an Expertscape World Expert in Caregivers, and also included among the most-cited list of scientists compiled by Stanford researchers!
