  • [Asian Karate Championship 2021 (Senior & Junior)] A Silver & Bronze Medal from EdUHK Elite Athlete-Students

    Good news from Hong Kong Karate Team!
     
    The team has won three Bronze medals in Asian Karate Championships Seniors 2021; one Gold, one Silver and five bronze medals of Junior Championships in total. The event was held in in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 20 to 22, December 2021. Three of the Hong Kong medalists are the students at The Education University of Hong Kong, shown as below:

  • RTHK Interview Chung Pui Ki on Road to be a Football Athlete & Dual Career Pathway

    The RTHK has interviewed Chung Pui Ki Vicky, a female football athlete and the Year 1 student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme on her sport development and dual career pathway. She is the first batch of athlete-students from Hong Kong Athletes Career & Education Programme (HKACEP) admitted into EdUHK after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) on 8 January 2021, while EdUHK is the first local university to establish such a collaboration with HKACEP.

  • BEd(PE) & BSc(SPSC) – 3rd & 4th Popular Programmes at EdUHK Selected by Students for JUPAS Band A

    Hong Kong’s universities released information about the popular programmes selected by students for Band A (top three JUPAS choices) this year on 9 December 2021. Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education) and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching were the third and the fourth popular programmes respectively at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK).

  • Road on the Post-athletic Transformation – Chan Yan Kit

    Chan Yan Kit, a current student from Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme, is a role model of elite athlete on developing his dual career pathway. Kit retired from full-time badminton athlete and has become part-time coach at Hong Kong Sports Institute since 2016.

  • EdUHK Receives Generous Donation from FHKA in Support of Elite Athletes’ Dual Pathway

    The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) received a generous donation of HK$2 million from the Friends of Hong Kong Association (FHKA) on 2 December in support of the University’s Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) Fund, a scheme established to promote the dual career pathway for local athletes and to foster the sustainable development of local sports.

  • HK Marathon Runners Tipped on Avoiding to “Hit the Wall”

    In a contributed article to Sing Tao, Dr. LOUIE Hung Tak, Lobo, Senior Lecturer at Department of Health and Physical Education, tipped Standard Chartered HK Marathon runners on avoiding to “hit the wall”, an exhaustion condition for runners apt to cause injuries and even life danger. Explaining the “hit the wall” phenomenon, he also clarified the common misconception that elite runners with adequate training would not have this problem.
