TVB reported that EdUHK offers a 10-week PDP programme on home economics/technology & living to advance teachers’ domestic science knowledge and reverse the decline of home economics education.
 
Dr. POON Tsz Chun, Eric, Assistant Professor of the Department of Health and Physical Education, indicated that the PDP programme, suspended for more than 10 years, is relaunched to cope with the shortage of home economics teachers. He revealed that the number of applicants to the programme has exceeded the quota by ten times.
 
Course lecturer Mr Francis Chau indicated that the course would instil students to incorporate food science into their daily lives.
