The Chairman of the University Grants Committee (UGC) Mr Tim Lui Tim-leung visited The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on 4 September 2025 together with over 20 UGC members.

Professor Amy Ha Sau-ching, Head of Department of Health and Physical Education, presented EdUHK’s sports science advancements to the delegation by illustrating how the SmartCourt in Human Performance Laboratory, the first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong and equipped with real-time multi-angle video recording and analytical capabilities, greatly advanced research and enhanced teacher training and learning experience.

EdUHK admitted 89 elite-athletes through the UGC-funded Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme (SALSA) since the 2022 academic year, providing holistic support to student-athletes in their pursuit of dual-track development in academic studies and athletic careers.
