[HPE Seminar] Dr. Cooper and Dr. Boat Research Seminar
The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) was delighted to have Dr. Simon Cooper, Associate Professor, and Dr. Ruth Boat, Senior Lecturer, in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, visit the Department from 20 Mar 2023 to 22 March 2023.

[TOYOTA Gazoo Racing Thailand International Challenge 2023] Remarkable result for EdUHK Elite Athlete
Ng Wing Yung, our elite athlete student in the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours), participated and won the first runner-up in the Women’s Double with her partner, Lui Lok Lok.

Congratulations to our Women’s Badminton Team won the Champion in the 2022-2023 USFHK Badminton Competition
12 teams from different universities in Hong Kong played their best starting from October 2022. After 4 months competition, our university team entered the Final against PolyU in Hang Seng University of Hong Kong on 25 February 2023.

[FLASS Dean’s Research Fund Seminar] Fluid Intake and/or Brief Mindfulness-based Intervention
Dr. SUN Fenghua, Bob, Associate Professor of the HPE Department, delivered an online research seminar on “Fluid Intake and/or Brief Mindfulness-based Intervention: Possible strategies on improving cognitive function of college soccer players” on 8 March 2023. The seminar attracted around 20 colleagues and students to attend and exchange ideas. The project was funded by FLASS Dean’s Research Fund.

Jockey Club Sports Empowering Programme Opening Ceremony and Press Conference
Supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Department of Health & Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is implementing a project “the Jockey Club Sports Empowering Programme”. This 3-year programme aims at promoting a motivational environment for youths to enjoy sport participation. Working with our 5 partnered sports organizations, we promote youth character building through their engagement in community sport. Your fellow staff members and students are invited to know more about our project, learn about our research studies, meet local athletes and participate in sports trials at our opening ceremony and press conference. EdUHK Launches Jockey Club Sports Empowering Programme
Thanks to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust’s funding, the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) has launched the Jockey Club Sports Empowering Programme – the city’s first large-scale sports coaching programme integrating character education – with the support of Action Sports Foundation, the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association, Hong Kong Rugby Union, the Hong Kong Tennis Association and Hoops for Hope Basketball Asia.

Internationalization of PE development – Cambodia “Online PE Learning Space”
Online PE Learning Space is a project organised by the Internationalism of PE development team aimed to provide diversified physical education learning opportunities for overseas students. In this project, the team has organised a list of online activities and content taught through the media of ZOOM.

EdUHK Advances Domestic Science Knowledge of Home Economics Teachers
TVB reported that EdUHK offers a 10-week PDP programme on home economics/technology & living to advance teachers’ domestic science knowledge and reverse the decline of home economics education.

[WTT Contender Amman 2023] Congrats to the Outstanding Achievement of Doo Hoi Kem in the International Competition!
Congratulations to Doo Hoi Kem, an elite athlete student (Table Tennis) in the Bachelor of Health Education (Honors) programme, won the second runner-up in Women's Doubles with her partner Zhu Chengzhu, and the first runner-up in Women's Singles in WTT Contender Amman 2023 organized at Amman, Jordan on 11 and 12 February 2023 respectively.

Disney Open House for Dream Makers for PES1274 Sport Management and Development of BSc(SPSC)
On 2 Feb 2023, 29 students from Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching programme attended Disney Open House for Dream Makers as part of the course “PES1274 Sport Management and Development”. The event was the first in-park Career Development and Job Recruitment Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland. It was a valuable opportunity for our students to learn about the operation and management of the resort as well as their possible diverse career choices.
