[4th Asia Bowls for the Disabled International Championship 2024] 2 BRONZES from Kwok Wing!
Our elite student-athlete, Kwok Wing (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) won two bronze medals at the 4th Asia Bowls for the Disabled International Championship 2024, held from October 14 to October 22, 2024. The competition took place in Saraburi Province, Thailand, where Kwok Wing secured a bronze medal in the B3 Mens Singles event. He also partnered with teammate Chan Ka Man to win another bronze in the B3 Mixed Pairs event. The Hong Kong team sent a total of 17 athletes to compete in various individual and doubles events, ultimately achieving a total of 5 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals. [27th International Table Tennis Federation Asian Table Tennis Championships 2024] EdUHK Elite-Athlete Students Claimed Two Bronze!
The 27th International Table Tennis Federation Asian Table Tennis Championships 2024 took place from October 6 to 13 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Two EdUHK elite-athlete students, Doo Hoi Kem (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) and Lee Ho Ching (Master of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Management), alongside Zhu Chengzhu and Ng Wing Lam, to represent Team Hong Kong, China to compete in the women’s team event of the championship. On the third day of competition, they defeated Thailand 3-0 in the quarterfinals, advancing to the semifinals. They then faced the Chinese national team in the semifinals, where Hong Kong lost 0-3 to the team led by world No. 1 Sun Yingsha. With no bronze medal match, Team Hong Kong, China secured the bronze medal, marking their third consecutive top-three finish at the Asian Championships.

[National Rowing Championships 2024] Lam San Tung won a GOLD in Men’s Pair!
The "National Rowing Championships 2024" was held in Xinjin, Chengdu, from September 26 to 29. Our current student-elite athlete, Lam San Tung (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) along with teammate Chan Chi Fung winning the Champion in the Men’s Pair. They finished in 7:05:07, winning the championship and creating history for the Hong Kong team. Congratulations to both of you!

[2024 Kowloon Cricket Club 120th Anniversary Challenge Cup] EdUHK Fung Ching Hei claimed her first PSA 6K Title!
Title sponsored by the Kowloon Cricket Club, organized by the Squash Association of Hong Kong , China, subvented by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (Art and Sports Development Fund), and supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the "KCC 120th Anniversary Challenge Cup" concluded last Saturday (September 21) after five days of intense competition at the Kowloon Cricket Club. Hong Kong player Fung Ching Hei (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) triumphed in the "Hong Kong team derby" to claim the women's title. The final saw top seed Fung Ching Hei face off against young talent Kwong Ena. Fung performed brilliantly, winning three straight games (11-9, 11-9, 11-5) to defeat Ena and secure her first PSA 6K Challenge title. Congratulations to Fung Ching Hei!

[10th Asian Wushu Championships] Silver medal from Yeung Michelle!
The 10th Asian Wushu Championships 2024 was held in Macau, China, from 10 to 16 September 2024. The Asian Wushu Championships is one of Asia's highest-level Wushu events. Hong Kong rounded out the games with 2 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Our current student-elite athlete Yeung Michelle (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) and her partners Sham Hui-yu Lydia and Lau Po-yan won the silver medal in Women’s Duilian. Congratulations!

[2024 FISU World University Championships Squash] Outstanding Results from the EdUHK Elite Athlete Students in FISU Championships Squash!
The 2024 FISU World University Championships Squash was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from September 2 to 8. Three elite athlete students from the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), who are studying Bachelor of Health Education (Honours), represented Hong Kong in the competition. These elite athlete students are Chung Yat Long, Lam Yat Ting, and Fung Ching Hei. In the first three days of the singles events, the three EdUHK Squash players achieved remarkable results. Chung Yat Long won a Bronze Medal in the Men’s Singles, Fung Ching Hei won a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Singles, and Lam Yat Ting finished seventh in the Men’s Singles ranking match. Following this, the three EdUHK athlete students also competed in the team events from September 5 to 8 and successfully reached the finals. The Hong Kong team faced a strong French team and ended in a 2:2 tie after a fierce battle. The Hong Kong team narrowly lost to France by a small margin in points, earning a Silver Medal. Chung Yat Long, Lam Yat Ting, and Fung Ching Hei contributed one silver medal and two bronze medals to the six medals won by the Hong Kong team in this championship. Congratulations to the Hong Kong team and the EdUHK elite athlete students.

[2024 FISU World University Championships Canoe Sports] Outstanding performance from EdUHK paddlers at the World University Championship!
The 2024 FISU World University Championships Canoe Sports was held from 21 to 24 August 2024 in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal. Two EdUHK canoeists, So Pak Yin (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) and Chung Hoi Tik (Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education)), represented Hong Kong, China, to compete in the Championship. On the first day of the Championships, So Pak Yin won the MK1-200m Final B in the Canoe Sprint event. Both canoeists performed outstandingly in their respective events for the remainder of the championships. So Pak Yin ranked 9th place in MK1-1000m Heat. Chung Hoi Tik ranked 9th place in the WK1-200m Semi-Final and 8th place in the WK1-500m Heat. Congratulations to both EdUHK canoeists!

[Baoji China Masters 2024] – Outstanding Performance by Fu Chi Yan for Bronze!
The Baoji China Masters 2024 was held in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, from August 6th to 11th. Fu Chi Yan (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) partnered with Lui Chun Wai to win the 2nd Runner-Up in the Mixed Doubles event on August 10th. Competing as the fifth seed, Fu Chi Yan and Lui Chun Wai successfully defeated several teams including the pairs from India, China and Hong Kong. Unfortunately, they were defeated in the semifinals by the Chinese duo Zhang Hanyu and Bao Lijing with scores of 11-21 and 18-21. This Bronze Medal is their best performance since winning Silver at the RSL Lithuanian International 2022. Congratulations to Fu Chi Yan!

[Asian Jump Rope Championships 2024] Outstanding Performance from Poon Yin Ting!
The "Asian Jump Rope Championship 2024" was held in Kawasaki, Japan, from July 23 to 30. Our current student-athlete, Poon Yin Ting (Bachelor of Physical Education (Honours)), along with teammates Wong Kai Ming, Yeung Tin Long, Tang Lok Tin, and Yeung Tsz Ching Gustave participated in the team events. After eight intense events, they narrowly defeated the host team from Japan by 5 points to win the all-around champion. Congratulations to Yin Ting and her teammates!

[Asian Squash Doubles Championships 2024] Fung Ching Hei claimed Bronze in Asian Championships!
The 2024 Asian Squash Doubles Championship took place from July 4 to 7 in Malaysia. Our student-athlete, Fung Ching Hei (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)), partnered with Ho Tze Lok to represent the Hong Kong team in the Women's event. They were stopped in the Semi-Finals and under the condition of no third-place match, they shared the Bronze Medal with another Hong Kong team, Tse Yee Lam Toby and Wong Po Yui Kirstie. Congratulations to Fung Ching Hei!

[World Table Tennis Star Contender Bangkok 2024] EdUHK Student-Athletes Shine on World Stage Before Paris Olympic!
The World Table Tennis Star Contender Bangkok 2024 was held from July 2 to 7 in Bangkok, Thailand. Two students in Bachelor of Health Education (Honours), Doo Hoi Kem and Lee Ho Ching, delivered outstanding performances. Doo Hoi Kem partnered with Wong Chun Ting in the Mixed Doubles event and advanced to the Finals but ultimately lost to the solid Japanese pair, Tomokazu Harimoto and Hina Hayata, with a score of 1-3, securing the Silver Medal. Additionally, Doo Hoi Kem and Lee Ho Ching competed in the Women's Doubles event. Unfortunately, they were defeated by the Korean duo Shin Yubin and Jeon Jihee in the Semi-Finals. They won the Bronze Medal with another Hong Kong Women's Doubles duo, Zhu Chengzhu and Ng Wing Nam. This tournament was the last event for the Hong Kong team before the Paris Olympics, which has boosted their confidence and motivation for the upcoming Olympic journey.

[2024 Asian University Wushu Championship] EdUHK Wushu Athletes with excellent performance in Asian University Championship!
The 2024 Asian University Wushu Championship was held in Harbin, China, from June 17 to 22, attracting nearly 400 athletes from 12 countries or regions. A total of 15 athletes representing Hong Kong, including three from The Education University of Hong Kong: Yeung Michelle and Yeung Debbie (Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)); and Lee Wing Yung (Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education)). Yeung Michelle won a Gold Medal in the Women’s Traditional Weapon event and a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Traditional Quanshu event. Lee Wing Yung won a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Optional Nanquan event. Yeung Debbie also participated in the Women’s Optional Taijijian event and finished in 7th Place. Their contributions to the Hong Kong team’s impressive performance of 5 Gold, 4 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals placed Hong Kong second overall. Congratulations to the EdUHK Wushu Athletes and the Hong Kong Team!
