The Eastside Open 2022 has completed on 18 September 2022 in Hobart, Australia. Fung Ching Hei, the year-one squash elite athlete-student of Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) Programme, has obtained her first PSA 3K title in the captioned squash tournament. After a tough battle against her teammate, Fung Ching Hei claimed the champion with the game score 3:2 successfully.

Congratulations to Dr. CHUNG Ming Yan, Louisa on receiving the Certificate of Merit 2021/22 of the Faculty Teaching Award (FTA), and Dr. OR Pui Lai, Peggy on receiving the Certificate of Merit 2021/22 of the Faculty Caring Teaching Award (CTA).

A Webinar on Home Economics will be organized by HPE on 24 Aug 2022 via Zoom.

Organised by the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), the “Home Economics and Nutritional Health Webinar” was held on 24 August 2022, to discuss students’ diets and the future development of Home Economics in schools.

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) announced on 5 August signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement with the East China Normal University (ECNU) and announced its membership in the Chinese Association of Physical Education. As the first local university to join the Association, the EdUHK expects to foster collaboration among member institutions on the development and reform of physical education (PE).

Congratulations to the EdUHK elite athlete-students, Lee Ho Ching, Ng Tsz Yau and Tsang Hiu Yan for winning GOLD medals in the international table-tennis and badminton competitions in July 2022 respectively. All of them are students from the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE).

Dr. OR Pui Lai, Peggy, Assistant Professor of the HPE, interviewed by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW) on her 2 projects ”健康天文台” and “真相追擊”, which are the platforms for providing health information for people of different age groups.

Congratulations to Lee Wing Yung, the wushu elite athlete-student of Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education)! Hong Kong Wushu Team delegated two male and two female athletes to participate in The World Games 2022 – Wushu, which was held in Birmingham, USA. Lee Wing Yung performed very well and won the bronze medal, with the score 8.977 of Nanquan and 9.117 of Nandao for a total of 18.094 points.

The HPE adapted physical education teacher workshop was held on 8th July and 15th July 2022 successfully. The workshop was conducted under the theme of adapted physical activity (APA) and adapted physical education (APE), with international and local perspectives.

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) held an online ceremony on 12 July for the President’s Awards for Outstanding Performance in Teaching, Research, Knowledge Transfer and Administrative Services 2021/22.
