  • HPE Students Excel in Supporting Roles at Po Leung Kuk Affiliated Schools Sports Day 2025: Bridging Education and Athletics

    The Po Leung Kuk Affiliated Secondary Schools Sports Day (2024-2025) concluded on February 21, 2025, at Tsing Yi Sports Ground. The closing ceremony featured Ms. Lee Ho Ching, a representative of the Hong Kong table tennis team, as the guest of honor. Members of the Po Leung Kuk Board of Directors and principals from the affiliated secondary schools were also in attendance. Seventeen schools participated in 7 track and 4 field events. Under the guidance of Mr. Chan Ching Yat, Roy, and Mr. Yong Chi Fung, dozens of HPE students from EdUHK contributed in various roles, including referees, starters, and record-keepers, and more, ensuring the event's smooth operation.

  • Master of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Management’s Students Inspired by Guest Lecture on Elite Athlete Training by Honorary Professor Shen Jinkang

    On 26 November 2024, we welcomed Honorary Professor Shen Jinkang (沈金康), former head coach of the Hong Kong Cycling Team, to deliver a guest lecture titled "The Application of Sports Science in Elite Athlete Training" to students in the Master of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Management programme. Professor Shen was recently conferred an Honorary Professorship by EdUHK in recognition of his outstanding contributions to elite sports coaching and development.

    The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS) and Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) proudly welcomed our External Member of the Faculty Development Advisory Committee (FDAC), Prof. Raymond LEE, an esteemed scholar in spine biomechanics, ageing, osteoporosis, and health technology, visiting the EdUHK from 4 to 8 November 2024.

  • Sha Tin Bicycle Festival 2024 with EdUHK Participation

    The first "Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China – Sha Tin Bicycle Festival 2024" was successfully held on November 3, 2024. Organized by the Hong Kong Flash Exchange Association, the Hong Kong China Sports Popularization and Development Association, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong Sha Tin branch and Kingboard Holdings Limited, the event attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic participants.

  • EdUHK Elite Athlete Students Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi Visit Campus Share Personal Growth and Olympic Gold Medal Experiences with Faculty and Students

    EdUHK elite athlete students, twin sisters Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi, who each won two gold medals in artistic swimming at the Olympic Games in Paris, visited EdUHK’s Tai Po campus on 4 October 2024 to receive their student identification cards, officially becoming part of the EdUHK family. They then joined a gathering to share their journey of sports, studies, personal growth, and Olympic success with EdUHK’s faculty and students.

    The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and the Fire Services Department (FSD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 2 October to establish a collaborative partnership in organising training on the fundamentals of emergency care and critical response by the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy (FASA) and EdUHK’s Department of Health and Physical Education.

    Located inside GO PARK Sai Sha, GO PARK Sports is a diverse outdoor sports park. It collaborates with various sports associations, organizations, and schools to provide a platform for hosting sports-related activities and fostering sports culture of the community. Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (HPE) is one of the partners of GO PARK Sports, offering valuable internship opportunities to HPE students to cultivate their professional development in various sports fields. Students will gain experience in organizing local and international sports events/ competitions throughout the internship period. This collaboration not only benefits the career development of the students but also promotes a diverse range of sports to people from different walks of life in Hong Kong, working together to nurture the sports culture in the society.
