Nissin Foods Elite Athletes Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025/26
The Nissin Foods Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2025/26 was held on 27 January 2026 to award scholarships to elite athlete-students from the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) who strive for excellence in their studies while continuing to excel in their sporting performance. The scholarship will cover full yearly tuition fees of the recipients, allowing them to focus on their studies without worrying about financial burden.

Department of Health and Physical Education Unites for the Hong Kong Marathon Promoting Sports Development and Advancing Physical and Health Education
In support of the Hong Kong Marathon, the Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) at The Education University of Hong Kong organised and participated in a wide range of marathon-related activities before and after the race. Through professional outreach and active involvement in the race, the Department showcased its expertise and strong community spirit in advancing physical education, health education and sport science.

Prof. Liu Xinmin Shared New Insights on Ginseng and Strategies for Promoting Physical and Mental Well-being
Prof. Liu Xinmin, Vice Chairman of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Laboratory Animals, Director of the Branch of Food and Medicine Homology Industry of the Chinese Nutrition Society, and Chief Scientist at the Institute of Drug Discovery Technology, Ningbo University, delivered a lecture on "Ginseng as Supplement – Strategies for Maintaining Physical and Mental Health” in his visit on 8 January 2026 to the Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong.

Representatives of SCNU and GBA Physical Education and Sport Development Alliance Visit the Department for Deeper Collaboration
Prof. Duan Rui, Dean of the School of Physical Education and Sports Science at South China Normal University (SCNU), along with Wang Wei, Director of the General Office of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Physical Education and Sport Development Alliance, visited the Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on 27 November 2025 to discuss future collaboration opportunities with the Department in offering physical education training and exchange programs.

Marathon Workshop – “Nutritional Principles for Marathon Race and Recovery”
The Department of Health and Physical Education offered the last workshop of the marathon workshop series, titled “Nutritional Principles for Marathon Race and Recovery”, through online platform on 26 November to support runners in their preparation for the 2026 Hong Kong Marathon. This session aims to provide essential insights into how proper nutrition intake can optimize race performance, support effective recovery, and enhance overall endurance for marathon runners.

Honorary Professor Shen Jinkang Visits the Department and Delivers Lecture on Sports Coaching
Three elite athlete-students and graduates including Fung Ching Hei and Lam Shing Fung (both studying the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)) together with Chung Yat Long (graduate of the same programme) achieved remarkable success at the “17th East Asian Squash Championships” by defending Team Hong Kong’s champion.

Marathon Workshop – “Scientific Training and Recovery Strategies for Distance Running”
The Department of Health and Physical Education is pleased to offer another marathon workshop on 23 November titled “Scientific Training and Recovery Strategies for Distance Running” to support runners in their preparation for the 2026 Hong Kong Marathon. This session provided an in-depth analysis of evidence-based training methods and effective rest strategies to achieve optimal training outcomes.

Marathon Workshop – “Beyond Physical Training: Managing the Mental Marathon Before, During, and After Race Day”
Further to the inaugural seminar on the organisation of large-scale sports event held on 17 November, the Department of Health and Physical Education is pleased to offer a subsequent workshop on 19 November titled “Beyond Physical Training: Managing the Mental Marathon Before, During, and After Race Day” to support runners in their preparation for the 2026 Hong Kong Marathon, focusing not only on physical training but also on mental resilience and emotional well-being.

Seminar on Major Sports Event: Organisation of a Major International Sports Event in Hong Kong
To further support EdUHK runners in their preparation for the upcoming Hong Kong Marathon 2026, the Department of Health and Physical Education is set to host a series of activities including workshops and seminar on marathon in November. Distinguished speakers will share practical tips on the training recovery and mental preparation for distance running and the organisation of major sports events.

Student Field Experience: Visit to the Hong Kong Sports Institute
Dr. Louie Hung-tak Lobo, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Health and Physical Education, led a group of 40 students on 12 November in an invaluable visit to the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), Hong Kong's flagship elite training facility. This excursion was designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and world-class sporting practice, offering a rare glimpse into the ecosystem that produces world champions.

Future of Smart Automation – HPE’s Academic Visit to Peking University under the “Ten Thousand People Plan”
The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) at The Education University of Hong Kong was honored to be invited by the Department of PE at Peking University to participate in a seven-day academic visit to Peking University from 26 October to 1 November 2025 which was supported by the “Ten Thousand People Plan” (萬人計劃) under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. The visit was led by Prof. Amy HA, Dr. Gary CHOW, Dr. Claudia WONG and Dr. ZHENG Chen, with 20 students actively engaged in the trip.
