The Department of Health and Physical Education (HPE) successfully organized the Water Safety Promotion Programme in Rural Areas of the Greater Bay Area in May 2024. Co-organized with the Hong Kong Swimming Teachers’ Association (HKSTA) and the Orphan Education Society Guangdong (OESG), the programme included three 5-day workshops in Xinyi City and Qianguancun. About 30 HPE students acted as the main or assistant swimming coach to teach more than 300 teenagers.Teaching content covered essential water safety knowledge, drowning prevention strategies, swimming techniques (breathing, floating, propulsion), and basic rescue skills. The programme aimed to address the lack of swimming and water safety education in rural areas, while helping HPE students apply their knowledge to benefit the community. |

西沙GO PARK内的多元化户外体育公园GO PARK Sports以体育学院的概念出发，与不同体育总会、机构、以及学校合作，提供平台举办体育相关活动，在社区中建立运动文化。而香港教育大学健康与体育学系亦为GO PARK Sports的其中一个合作伙伴，为学生提供宝贵的实习机会，培育他们于不同运动范畴的专业发展。健康与体育学系的学生将有机会透过实习，获得参与、协助或策划本地及国际级体育活动的工作经验。这次的合作不仅有利于学生的职业生涯规划，同时亦能推动各式各样的运动予公众人士，携手推动香港运动文化。 |
