  • Professor Joanne Chung's Research Project Featured on HKFEW

    Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW) ran a special feature on EdUHK's innovative projects. The research project of Prof. CHUNG Wai Yee, Joanne, Chair Professor at the Department of Health and Physical Education, and Dr Henry So Chi-fuk at the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology, on a wearable hand strap for emotion assessment by using HRV as a biomarker is featured on HKFEW.

    【明报专讯】健康与体育学系助理教授 周志清博士 从运动科学角度,分析拔河的原理。周博士分别用「静态」和「动态」来解释拔河的静力动作和肌力动作。他指肌力动作属动态动作,向后步行时透过髋、膝、踝关节的屈伸来产生力量。至于静力动作时身体虽然保持静态,但其实也会使用肌肉力量,透过收缩全身肌肉,固定各关节以保持姿势稳固。

    Dr. OR Pui Lai, Peggy, Assistant Professor of the Department of Health & Physical Education, who has been engaging in fencing for around four years, was quoted as saying that the main points of performing fencing lunge lie with the stability of the centre of gravity and the strong explosive power. She reminded that a skilled fencer will keep the footwork light and shift to avoid being detected by the opponents.
